Anna is National Coordinator of ICDF Britain. She trained at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London, before going on to dance professionally. After a break of some ten years, she was called to dance for the Lord and now regularly leads workshops for the CDFB and other organisations. Anna has been privileged to teach for ICDF in Ghana, the Netherlands and India.
Anna is also a member of 3rd Stage Dance Company, a UK dance company which seeks to keep dancers dancing.
Dancercise is a Christ-centred dance and exercise ministry providing a friendly and inclusive environment for people of all abilities and mobilities in the community.
The concept of Dancercise was born out of the scripture from Acts 17:28: “In Him we live and move and have our being”. This scripture speaks of our whole being, spirit, body and mind. The class seeks to minister to all these.
Each class includes a series of fun and mobilising routines, combining dance and fitness, choreographed to a mixture of popular and Christian music. There’s also a social element to the class with tea afterwards and an opportunity for prayer.
In this elective I will share more about this concept and explore how the basic format of the class works. The sessions will include setting up classes, music selection, technique, choreography, class format, delivery, finding ministry partners and more. Delegates could even look at setting something up in their own communities.
For all levels.
