New Zealander, wife, mother and grandmother, Debbie is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, researcher, writer, editor and publisher who has trained in many areas of dance and performed (mostly solo) in many Church and secular contexts. A long-term ICDF leader and teacher nationally and internationally, Debbie is also a certified CaraMayan teacher.
Debbie is the Director ICDF Diploma in Dance Ministry and writer and teacher of several of the papers.
As director of the ICDF Diploma/Certificate in Dance Ministry, Debbie will provide information on the Diploma/Certificate and answer questions.
However, since the ICDF Diploma is an applied qualification, much of the time will be spent on practical dance exercises drawn from parts of the Diploma curriculum, with, hopefully, input and practical exercises led by other Diploma tutors, either face-to-face or through video.
So, here is an opportunity to experience some great learning in a group context!
As the title suggests, this workshop is about creating a teaching programme that is a sound, safe dance training experience for dancers and would-be dancers in your churches and communities.
This student-centred workshop will include brainstorming, trying out ideas together and exploring ways to adapt a programme to suit groups with different levels of training and (dis)ability, and mixed training/ability groups.
